SHREK

I feel like this summer has passed us by and we
have not done much of the fun stuff we usually do.
Like going to Prescott Park and watching the play.
This year it is Shrek the Musical.
And we found time to go see it.  We arrived early to set up our
blankets and chairs.  We walked over to the playground so the little ones
could play for awhile.

And the big boys.
Went back to our blanket and chairs.
                                            Everyone took turns moving around.
Rohana was sitting in Rebekah's stroller

HA, Ha, 5 minutes into it I remembered why I always said "no" to
the girls when they asked to watch the Shrek movie.
It was good to get out and do something with the kids.

All the people involved did a great job with the Musical !

yep, that is mom and dad.

FIRST TIME

Today was the eye exam for Rebekah and Gabriel.
And I am excited to say that Rebekah does not need glasses.
This was the first time we have gone to a Doctors appointment and
been told she does not need something !!!!!!
HER EYES ARE FINE  !! WOO HOO

And Gabriel does not need his glasses as strong as they are.
He may need patching later on this year.
This appointment was @ 9 and we left there @ 11:45.

Yesterday Rebekah went for the first part of the
Modified Barium Swallow test. Which took a whole 20 minutes.
It was shown that Liquids are going into her lungs when she drinks
thin liquids. That was what I thought.   So thick foods only

Now we wait for the Gastro... Doctor to tell us the next step.
Feeding thru a G tube ?  I brought her home to meet her needs
And to give her LOVE like she has never seen or felt before.

Truthfully during the searching (child) process we were afraid to
chose a child that would could die because of their Special need.
Like a boy with a heart condition who was labeled inoperable.
It would just hurt soo much to lose a child. And how would it
effect / hurt our children who are already home (to lose a sibling)
Sometimes I can look back and say "yep, that was exactly what I
DID NOT WANT" and then say to God "Why are you making me
face my fears or giving me what I did not want"
This verse quickly comes to me.

SHE IS 7

She has been home with us for 4 years.
We were at the US consulate on her birthday in India
getting her travel visa. We flew home the next day.

  -- Insert pictures here???

And now she is 7 years old. A huge blessing,
She opened my eyes to SN children !

She is so funny at times.
before we sung HAPPY BIRTHDAY.....

It has been a busy week as usual !!     Some pictures from last week.

This is Rebekah after a night of NO sleep, after breakfast.

This is a hot afternoon at our house. The 3 middle kids on the couch
and Rebekah is the bouncy seat and my granddaughter Brooke on the floor.
Brooke is 6 months old and she is Memere's angel.

This week we have the Barium Swallow test and eye Doc for Gabe and Becca.

THE BEACH

Finally, we went to the beach..........after dinner.

Here is daddy walking down to the water with the 3 littles.
You can see the 2 big boys in the left of the picture.

After screaming excitedly over and over in the water they needed to use
the pails and shovels and dig in the dirt and build castles.
Even the big boys got in on it.
.

Rebekah was well covered up because of the sun and wind.

Love this picture of Gabriel. These kids had a great time !!
Woo Hoo as Gabriel would say.

Can you say blessed !!!!

PRINCESS PETS

While we were in China bringing  Gabriel and Rebekah home.
Sissa took the girls to Build A Bear and they picked out
Princess pets.
The blue one is a rabbit and it is Snow whites pet.
The orange one is a cat and it is Ariels pet.

After taking Gabriel to therapy we went to the Maine Mall
to Build A Bear.  Both girls received a $5 Birthday coupon by email and
wanted to use  their $5  birthday money to get their pets something.

Awww, they are beautiful all dressed up !

We did get Gabriel and Rebekah Build A Bear  bears before we went to China.
So I let Gabriel pick out a outfit for his bear.
Well, pants and shark shoes, I think Nathan helped him pick it out.

They plan well together.

And this is what Nathan has been working on.

Lego  that he buys with his WORKED HARD MONEY !

These kids are awesome.

SPAM FOLDER

This is what I found in my spam folder:

Good Afternoon,

The Gift of Adoption Fund reviewed your application at its August Grant
Selection Committee meeting. It was the decision of the committee to Not
Approve your application at this time.

The reason(s) for this decision is:
- committed funding not demonstrated (Less than 50% of the total reported
adoption costs have been funded. This includes the assumption that all
liquid assets such as savings will be applied to the adoption costs).

Please note, the application fee you paid allows you to apply up to three
times. If the information cited in the reason(s) above changes materially
and you would like to provide updated information for the Grant Selection
Committee to consider at a future meeting, please contact the Director of
Grants.

We wish you the best of luck as you continue your adoption journey and we
are sorry we were not able to help. It is our vision that, someday, there
will be no financial barriers between a child in need of a family and a
family such as yours that is stepping forward to give a child a loving
home.

Best,
Grant Selection Committee
Gift of Adoption Fund

WOW, this hurt.... committed funding ? Liquid assets ??
Not sure they were looking at our application.

I still believe that God has a plan.

BRAIN

This is what the little muchkin looked like yesterday.

She was having a take home EEG done.  First they mark her head
with red ink then they put each wire to her head with a lubricant
and put tape over it, wrap her head with gauze, cover the wires and viola.
I jokingly said" she'll have it all off by dinner time, I do not underestimate this one"
By dinner time she had one wire pulled out...........

We got to see her roll on BOTH sides and onto her stomach ! woot, woot !!

She does not like this new adventure of having something on her head that she
can not get off. She awoke every 2 hours, Ugg...It will be off by 9am.
